It'll be a lot of fun and it's all for a good cause. Proceeds from the night will go to support the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, a veterans organization that helps disabled vets and their families adjust to civilian life.
The show starts at 7pm and will be followed by an afterparty at Sonny's on Exchange St. sponsored by Double Cross Vodka.
Let me know if you want to go to one or both, I will be going to both :)
Hey Kate! SO one event is at the SPACE Gallery on Wednesday March 16th, 7:30pm, $12 general admission. It's a screening for a local movie called Killer Joe. Description: Drugs, guns, sex, and country-western: this ain't your daddy's night at the theater. Something like the love-chil...d of Sam Shepard and Quentin Tarantino, "Killer Joe" lures you with pitch black humor into the trailer-trash world of a greedy and vindictive Texan clan desperate enough to murder their mother for her insurance policy.
Unable to pull off the dirty deed themselves, they hire a contract killer who sinks his claws into their young daughter and sends their plan spiraling out of control. In his first play, Pulitzer Prize-winner Tracy Letts pushes Southern Gothic to a pulpy, shocking extreme, creating a visceral experience that builds tension to a jaw-dropping, hilariously depraved climax.
