Support a great cause, drink some great wine and eat some great food. Can't think of a reason not to go...

Join Sommelier Erica Archer, CWP, WSET Advanced, for a guided wine tasting discussion aboard the M/V Casablanca to see, swirl, sniff, and taste your way through Maine’s beautiful Casco Bay on this Wine Wise interactive and social wine education experience to benefit in Share Our Strength and the fight against childhood hunger in Maine. Food generously provided by the Old Port Sea Grill and wines from Pine State Distributors.

* Leave with a toolbox of wine evaluation and appreciation skills that will enable you to approach any wine comfortably.
* Expand your ability to articulate what is going on in your wine glass.
* Discover what to expect from distinct grape varietals and wine making regions.
* Learn what to expect from certain terms on a wine label when selecting your next bottle of wine.
* Gain skills for appropriately pairing food and wine.
* Raise money for a GREAT cause!

Thank you to Maine Magazine, Pine State Distributors, and the Old Port Sea Grill for being major sponsors for this event. Please contact us at for details about a few remaining sponsorship opportunities.

Tickets are $50 in advance ($45 each for parties of 8 or more) and $60 day of event (if available) at winewiseevents.com or 207.619.4630.

Announcing Fall Maine Restaurant Week, October 24-31, 2010. Same format as the one in late winter. Restaurants agree to create and feature special three course prix fixe menus -- priced at 20, 30 or 40. You'll have to wait a while to see who's serving what and at what price level. Also some restaurants will be serving three course lunches for 15.

It's a great opportunity to try out a place that you otherwise may never have.
