Hey everyone, hope you've all been having a good time so far this summer - what a great one it's been! I've been hitting up some great trails out here in Waterboro after work. There are tons of ATV/snowmobile trails out here that seem to be perfect for biking...I've gone out about 10 times in the past few weeks and have yet to hit the same trail, or see the end of a trail. Just wanted to throw the invitation out that if anyone is interested to take a hike out, I can show you some spots...although I don't know them well enough yet to be a tour guide of any sort. If there's enough interest, I'd be down for having a 1/2 day ride, 1/2 day cookout and drinks at out place. Let me know...

Hello All! I have been running beginner rides on Saturdays at Bradbury Mountain State Park as a function of my involvement with the New England Mountain Biking Association. Please become a fan of Greater Portland NEMBA on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Greater-Portland-NEMBA/316709321780) or check out the GP-NEMBA website at http://greaterportlandnemba.com to see when rides are scheduled and who to look for.
I look forward to seeing some of your awesome faces out on the trails!

Anyone interested in a ride today? Dry and breezy but nice. Feel free to call - best times for me are before 2pm or after 6pm. Have a great weekend! c 831-0590.

I found this to be a great resource, even better if you access the trailmaps:

Pretty sure Gorham Bike and Ski rents bikes. And for beginner trails try out the stuff around the fore river sanctuary.

Jewell falls is pretty cool. :)

There are a bunch of places in Portland: behind Evergreen Cemetery, along the Presumpscot River toward Falmouth, and a great little network of trails in South Portland that spills over into Cape Elizabeth. Ask at any local bike shop where good trails lie; they definitely have the inside scoop on them and rentals too.

Any newbie bikers here? What's the best beginner trail in/around Portland to do some recreational biking? Also, anyone knows if any places have mtn bikes for rent?
